What is vision therapy?
Neuro Optometric Vision Therapy is a treatment prescribed by a specialized subset of optometrists — Fellows of Optometry in Vision Development and Rehabilitation. It's a highly effective treatment that trains the brain with the goal of creating an efficient brain-eye connection. A therapy program using lenses, filters and specialized tools and procedures is tailored to each individual to improve skills like tracking, focusing, eye teaming and visual processing.
The field treats a variety of vision concerns including visual headaches, reading fatigue, double vision, poor academic performance, poor attention in school, difficulty with vision after a stroke or concussion, poor eye-hand coordination and light sensitivity.
